Interface Tour

Every panel, named.

Eight regions. Learn them once, never get lost again.

// WHAT IT DOES

Live's window has eight main regions: Browser (left), Main view (centre — Session or Arrangement), Detail view (bottom — clip or device editor), Transport (top), Help bar (very bottom), and the right-hand groove pool.

Most beginners only ever look at two: Main view and Detail view. That's normal.

Think of it like → Like learning a new car: once you know where the wipers are, you never think about it again.
▸ WHY YOU CARE
  • Knowing where things live makes every tutorial 10x faster.
  • You stop hunting for buttons and start making music.

TAP A REGION

Click any labelled region of the fake Live window to learn what it does.

▸ HOW IT WORKS

Each region is a panel that can be shown or hidden. The triangle handles let you collapse anything to reclaim space.

▸ SIGNAL FLOW

Glowing dot = your signal travelling through Live.
▸ LISTEN FOR
  • Nothing — this lesson is visual.
▸ WALKTHROUGH (3 steps)
  1. 1. DO: Click the bottom-left triangle to hide the Browser.
▸ LISTEN: Main view widens — more room to work.
  2. 2. DO: Click the bottom-right triangle to show Info View.
▸ LISTEN: Hover anything — a description appears.
  3. 3. DO: Press Tab.
▸ LISTEN: Main view swaps Session ↔ Arrangement.
▸ COMMON MISTAKES
  • Working with every panel open on a 13" laptop. Hide what you don't need.
  • Missing the Info View when stuck — it explains every control on hover.
