Reverb & Delay
Space and echo.
Space and echo. The two effects every record needs.

// WHAT IT DOES
Reverb adds the sound of a room — small, big, plate, hall. Delay adds discrete echoes — slap, ping-pong, dub.
Use them on Return tracks (sends) so multiple tracks share the same space — the mix sounds glued.
Think of it like → Reverb is the room. Delay is someone in the canyon shouting back.
▸ WHY YOU CARE
- • Reverb makes things feel like they're in the same room.
- • Delay creates depth and movement.

⤴ RETURN A — REVERB · One device, three tracks share it.
▶ Push a track's send up to drown it in the same reverb. Cleaner than putting Reverb on every track — and one knob changes the whole space.
▸ HOW IT WORKS
Source → Send → Return Track → Reverb/Delay → back into Master.
▸ Signal flow — watch the dot
▸ SIGNAL FLOW
Glowing dot = your signal travelling through Live.
▸ LISTEN FOR
- • Predelay = clarity. Diffuse = warmth.
▸ WALKTHROUGH (3 steps)
- 1. DO: On a Return: drop Reverb. Send vocal +6 dB.▸ LISTEN: Vocal sits in a room.
- 2. DO: Increase Predelay to 30 ms.▸ LISTEN: Vocal stays clear, reverb arrives later.
- 3. DO: Replace with Delay → 1/8 dotted, feedback 30%, ping-pong on.▸ LISTEN: Stereo dub echoes.
▸ COMMON MISTAKES
- ✗ Insert reverbs on every track instead of returns — kills the mix.
- ✗ 100% feedback delay = runaway.
