A modern setup integrates: a computer running the DAW, an audio interface for I/O, a controller for playing instruments, monitor speakers and headphones for listening, and a plugin library for sounds and effects.
These need to be configured together: interface drivers installed, MIDI controller mapped to DAW, monitors calibrated to a reference level, plugins authorised and organised.
Once set up, you should be able to open a new project and start creating in under a minute — that's the goal of integration.
