Macro Variations
Snapshot, recall, morph — patches that perform.
Snapshot the macro state. Recall in one click. Morph in between.

// WHAT IT DOES
A Macro Variation is a saved snapshot of all 16 macro values on a Rack. Build a sound, hit New Variation — that's snapshot 1. Tweak the macros, save again — snapshot 2. Click between them to instantly recall the whole macro state.
Live 12 added smooth interpolation: instead of jumping between snapshots, you can drag a slider that morphs all 16 macros in parallel from one variation to the next.
Think of it like → Like preset snapshots on a synth — except they include every macro you've assigned, not just the panel.
▸ WHY YOU CARE
- • One-click 'verse → chorus' patch changes.
- • Build performance morphs that fade smoothly.

▸ HOW IT WORKS
Variation slot stores 16 macro values → recall sets all 16 → morph slider interpolates.
▸ Signal flow — watch the dot
▸ SIGNAL FLOW
Glowing dot = your signal travelling through Live.
▸ LISTEN FOR
- • All mapped parameters move together.
- • Smooth morph vs. instant recall.
▸ WALKTHROUGH (3 steps)
- 1. DO: Open a Rack. Tweak macros. Hit New Variation.▸ LISTEN: Snapshot 1 saved.
- 2. DO: Tweak macros differently. Save again.▸ LISTEN: Snapshot 2.
- 3. DO: Drag the morph slider between them.▸ LISTEN: Smooth blend across all 16 macros.
▸ COMMON MISTAKES
- ✗ Forgetting to map parameters to macros — variations won't touch them.
- ✗ Trying to morph between non-adjacent variations.
