WHAT IT DOES
A compressor automatically turns down anything that's too loud. The quiet parts then feel louder by comparison. Vocals stay present, drums punch, mixes glue together.
HOW IT WORKS
It listens for sound above the THRESHOLD and cranks it down by the RATIO. ATTACK and RELEASE control how fast it reacts. MAKEUP brings the level back up.
